Want to convert PIX you received into USDT (digital dollar) in real time, without going to an exchange? This tutorial shows exactly how, with every PixGo Wallet and BrSwap screen. Streamlined signup, no mandatory CNPJ, no monthly fee — just PIX coming in, DePix being created, and USDT in your hands in self-custody.

TL;DR
  • BrSwap is the swap engine you use inside PixGo Wallet — no other site to open
  • Direct DePix-USDT pair (no L-BTC intermediate since 2026-05): one swap, one fee
  • Flow: PIX (Real) → DePix (D+1) → USDT (instant via BrSwap)
  • Swap fee: 2% when the source is DePix, 1% when the source is USDT. USDT-USD ≈ 1.00. BRL-USD varies live
  • Back to PIX: the wallet PIX button (integrated CryPix) accepts Liquid USDT directly and sends the PIX to the destination account (R$100 minimum, CryPix fee applies)
  • All in self-custody: your wallet seed is the only control

What the real-time PIX-USDT converter is (in 30 sec)

"PIX-USDT converter" is not a standalone product — it's the result of combining 3 PixGo pieces:

Piece Role Time
PixGo (pixgo.org)Receives PIX, mints DePix to your walletD+1
PixGo Wallet (wallet.pixgo.org)Holds DePix in self-custodyAlways available
BrSwap (engine inside wallet)Swaps DePix for USDT~30 seconds on-chain

Result: the seller receives PIX in Real, that value becomes DePix (Liquid token, 1:1 with Real), and within seconds DePix becomes USDT (Liquid token pegged to USD). All inside one single wallet, no exchange signup.

Want to understand why do this (keeping part of the value in dollars, tax regime, real cases)? Read Receive PIX in Real and hold in USDT. This article is the how.

Your customer pays a regular PIX and the money arrives as DePix in your own wallet. See how the PixGo PIX gateway works.

Create account

Prerequisite: create the PixGo Wallet

If you don't have PixGo Wallet yet, this is step one. Takes 1 minute:

  1. Open wallet.pixgo.org
  2. Click Create Free Wallet → Generate My Wallet, save the 12-word seed, set the password and click Save and Continue
  3. Back the seed up in 2 places (paper + 1Password). No seed = no funds

Full beginner tutorial at PixGo Wallet from zero — first steps.

Don't skip this part. Without your own wallet, DePix has nowhere to land — and the whole point of the converter is that you hold the USDT, not an exchange.

Step 1 — Receive PIX and mint DePix

This is the money entry point. You generate a PIX QR Code, someone pays (customer, company, yourself), and the equivalent in DePix lands in your wallet at D+1.

  1. Log in at /login (main PixGo)
  2. Go to My Profile, paste your PixGo Wallet Liquid address (in the wallet: select the Liquid network in My Wallet → Networks, then Receive → Copy Address; it starts with lq1q...), save and validate
  3. Go to Gerar Cobrança (with your account already validated by PixGo after sign-up)
  4. Enter the amount (e.g., R$500), tap Continue and enter the payer's CPF/CNPJ
  5. Tap Charge
  6. Pay PIX from your bank app (or share the QR with the customer)
  7. Wait for confirmation — DePix arrives on the next calendar day
PIX you pay DePix received (fees already deducted) When it lands
R$5048.50 DePix (2% + R$0.50 delivery)D+1 (next calendar day)
R$500489.50 DePix (2% + R$0.50 delivery)D+1
R$5,0004,899.50 DePix (2% + R$0.50 delivery)D+1

Timing details at How PixGo D+1 works.

1 DePix = 1 Real, always. The DePix-Real pair is fixed 1:1. What varies in real time is the Real → Dollar rate, which kicks in on the next step.

Step 2 — Open BrSwap inside the wallet

DePix landed? Great. Time to swap to USDT. The swap lives in the PixGo Wallet Swap button — no other website, no new account.

  1. Open wallet.pixgo.org
  2. Log in with password (or biometrics on the app)
  3. Check Dashboard — your DePix balance should appear
  4. Click the Swap button (arrows icon)
  5. Swap screen appears: 2 boxes (origin / destination) + real-time quote

The BrSwap screen shows:

  • From: source asset (DePix) + available balance
  • To: destination asset (USDT) + estimate of what you'll receive
  • Quote: 1 USDT = X DePix (refreshes every few seconds)
  • Fee: swap fee (2% from DePix; 1% from USDT) + Liquid network fee (a few sats, in L-BTC)
  • Slippage: tolerance for quote variation during confirmation

Step 3 — Select pair DePix → USDT

The direct DePix-USDT pair is a key PixGo Wallet advantage. Before (until April 2026), every swap had to go through L-BTC as middleman: DePix → L-BTC → USDT. That added 2 fees + 2 spreads. As of May 2026, the pair is direct.

Route Fees Time
DePix → L-BTC → USDT (old)~4% (2 swaps)~1min
DePix → USDT direct (current)~2% (1 swap)~30 sec

On the screen:

  1. In the From box, select DePix
  2. In the To box, select USDT
  3. Enter the DePix amount you want to swap (e.g., 500)
  4. Wallet automatically calculates how much USDT you'll get (e.g., ~94 USDT, depending on the rate)
In this tutorial, the USDT is USDT on the Liquid Network. Same digital dollar, same Tether, but it runs on the Bitcoin sidechain — faster and cheaper to use with the wallet. (The wallet also handles USDT on other networks, such as Tron and Polygon.)

Step 4 — Confirm swap (quote, fee, slippage)

Before clicking Confirm, the wallet shows a full operation summary. Check these 4 items:

What to check How to evaluate
Quote 1 USDT = X DePixCompare with public BRL-USD rate (Google, e.g., 5.30 BRL = 1 USD)
USDT to receiveDePix divided by rate, minus fee. E.g., 500/5.30 = ~94.3 USDT gross; ~92.4 USDT net
BrSwap fee2% of value when the source is DePix (shown on screen, no hidden cost)
Liquid network feeA few sats, paid in L-BTC. Wallet auto-buys L-BTC from Gas Station if you don't have any

Practical examples (BRL-USD rate = 5.30):

DePix in USDT gross (no fee) BrSwap fee (2%) USDT net
50 DePix9.43 USDT0.19 USDT~9.24 USDT
500 DePix94.34 USDT1.89 USDT~92.45 USDT
5,000 DePix943.40 USDT18.87 USDT~924.53 USDT

If everything looks right, click Confirm swap. Wallet asks for password (or biometrics), signs the transaction, and within ~30 seconds the USDT shows up on Dashboard.

Slippage: default is 0.5%. In moments of high volatility (macro news, weekends, etc), the rate may shift between submission and confirmation. If it shifts more than the tolerated slippage, the wallet auto-cancels and your DePix returns. You lose nothing.

Step 5 — USDT stored (self-custody)

Done. Check Dashboard: USDT balance went up, DePix balance went down. That USDT is in your wallet, controlled by your seed. Balance held in self-custody, outside PixGo's reach. You keep as much as you want, as long as you want.

Things you can do with USDT in PixGo Wallet:

  • Hold it, if you want to keep part of the value in dollars
  • Send to another Liquid wallet (e.g., SideSwap, Blockstream Green, AQUA)
  • Send to a friend via Liquid address (lq1q...)
  • Swap back to DePix when you need Real
  • Pay bills directly via Crypix.me (see next step)
About the Gas Station: every Liquid transaction needs a tiny bit of L-BTC for network fee. If you only hold DePix/USDT, the Liquid network screen shows "You need L-BTC" with the Buy Gas button: tap it, confirm, and the Gas Station buys a micro-amount of L-BTC for you (paid with USDt if you have balance, otherwise with DePix).

Back: USDT → PIX out (wallet PIX button)

Time to turn USDT back into Real? The path is the wallet's own PIX button:

  1. Wallet → PIX button. On the Portfolio, click Pix. The button uses the integrated CryPix and accepts Liquid USDT directly — no need to swap to DePix first
  2. PIX key + amount. Enter the destination PIX key and the amount (R$100 minimum). CryPix converts it and the PIX lands in the destination account. Alternative: do it on the crypix.me website
Step Time Typical fee
USDT → PIX out (PIX button / CryPix)~2-5 minCryPix fee (varies with amount — check crypix.me)
Liquid network gas (L-BTC)Along with the sendA few sats (Gas Station covers it if missing)
BrSwap vs Crypix.me: BrSwap is crypto→crypto swap inside the wallet (DePix↔USDT). Crypix.me is crypto→fiat (DePix→PIX). They complement each other, not compete.

Real-time quote (how to read)

The quote shown on BrSwap is not "PixGo's price" — it's the Liquid market liquidity spread (mainly via SideSwap Market API). How to interpret:

  • 1 USDT-USD ≈ 1.00: USDT tracks the dollar nearly 1:1 (oscillates between 0.998 and 1.002 in normal conditions)
  • BRL-USD varies live: oscillates throughout the day per commercial dollar. E.g., 5.30 (morning) → 5.33 (afternoon) → 5.28 (night)
  • DePix-USDT spread: BrSwap's effective rate includes the swap fee (2% from DePix) plus a thin market spread (liquidity pool). Always compare with the public BRL-USD rate to check market health.

Before a large swap (R$5k+), check the public BRL-USD rate (Google, Yahoo Finance) and compare to what BrSwap shows. If the difference goes well beyond the swap fee, wait for the market to settle (usually a matter of minutes in low-liquidity moments).

Troubleshooting

"The shown fee doesn't match the public rate"

Likely cause: wider market spread during low-liquidity moments (weekends, late night, holidays). Wait 5-15min and try again. If it persists, the market might really be moving — check the BRL-USD rate from public sources to confirm.

"I don't have L-BTC for the fee"

No problem. On the Liquid network screen, tap Buy Gas and confirm: PixGo's Gas Station buys a micro-amount of L-BTC (pennies), paid with USDt if you have balance, otherwise with DePix. Details at Liquid Gas Station.

"The swap is taking more than 1 minute"

Normal cases: on-chain confirmation takes 1 Liquid block (~1min average, can be 2-3min at peak hours). If it goes over 5min, open the wallet's History tab and check status. If still pending, it's network congestion — confirms in a few more minutes. If it shows "failed", the DePix returns automatically (atomic transaction).

"The rate looks bad"

Before accepting, compare in 2 places:

  1. Google "BRL USD": gives you the official daily rate (interbank)
  2. Math: divide DePix amount by Google rate. Compare with USDT shown by BrSwap. A difference around the swap fee (2% from DePix) + market spread is normal. Much more than that, wait for the market to settle

"I want to swap L-BTC or BTC, not just DePix"

The wallet Swap supports multiple pairs within Liquid: DePix-USDT, DePix-LBTC, USDT-LBTC and variants. If you hold L-BTC and want USDT, just pick L-BTC in the From field. To swap native BTC (not L-BTC), you first need a Liquid Peg-In (BTC mainnet → L-BTC) — topic for another article.

FAQ — PIX-USDT converter

What's the difference between BrSwap and Crypix?

BrSwap is crypto-crypto swap inside PixGo Wallet (DePix↔USDT↔LBTC). Crypix.me is crypto→fiat (PIX out). You use BrSwap to switch asset within the crypto world; you use Crypix to leave the crypto world and land in a bank account.

Is it really instant?

Yes — the swap itself takes ~30 seconds to 1 minute (1 Liquid block confirmation). The D+1 part is only the entry: PIX → DePix. After DePix is in the wallet, any internal swap is "instant" by crypto standards.

Can I convert L-BTC or only DePix?

You can convert any asset supported by Liquid liquidity: DePix, L-BTC, USDT. The most common pair in Brazil is DePix↔USDT (because of PIX). But L-BTC↔USDT works fine for those who already hold BTC.

Where does the rate come from?

From aggregated Liquid liquidity — mainly via SideSwap Market API, which shows market-maker prices on the network. This means the rate tracks the real market, not "PixGo's price".

Are there hidden fees?

No. The 2 fees are shown on screen before confirmation: the swap fee (2% from DePix, 1% from USDT) + a few sats of Liquid network fee. Market spread exists (it's not a fee, it's liquidity pool structure) and is shown in the quote.

Any extra signup to use BrSwap?

No. BrSwap runs inside the PixGo Wallet — once your wallet exists, all internal swaps are free. It's movement between your own self-custody assets. Checks live at the entry side (PIX → DePix), on every PIX received.

Practical summary

  • Create PixGo Wallet at wallet.pixgo.org (1min) and back up the seed
  • Generate the PIX QR at Gerar Cobrança (/depix), pay PIX, wait for DePix to land at D+1
  • Open the Swap button inside the wallet
  • Select pair DePix → USDT, enter amount, check rate and fee
  • Confirm swap — USDT lands on Dashboard within ~30 seconds
  • To go back to Real: wallet PIX button (integrated CryPix), which accepts Liquid USDT directly
  • Swap fee: 2% from DePix (1% from USDT) + a few sats of network. Tolerated slippage prevents loss during high volatility
  • Everything in self-custody: wallet seed is full control
