Never used crypto and want to start with PixGo Wallet? This guide is for you. No jargon, no complicated terms. We go from "opening the wallet for the first time" to "making your first send" — step by step, with mental snapshots and common pitfalls.

TL;DR
  • PixGo Wallet runs at wallet.pixgo.org (web) or Capacitor app (Android)
  • Create wallet in 1 minute — get 12-word seed
  • The seed IS the wallet. Lost seed = lost funds. Save BEFORE receiving any value
  • First deposit: validate the wallet in My Profile and, once your PixGo account is validated, create a charge in Generate Charge (/depix) — DEPIX arrives next day (D+1)
  • First send: copy destination address, pick asset, send
  • Self-custody: PixGo does NOT control your funds — you do

Before starting — understand the concept

Crypto wallet differs from bank account:

Item Bank account PixGo Wallet
Who holds moneyBankYOU (seed in your hands)
PasswordBank can resetYou ARE the password (seed)
FreezableBank can freezeNo one freezes (crypto)
Reverse transaction?Yes (some)NO (final)
ID document needed?Yes alwaysCreating the wallet doesn't ask for one; identification comes in the PIX flows (charges, Buy Crypto, PIX out)
Golden rule: crypto is YOUR responsibility. No "forgot password" → "bank agent recovers". Lost seed = no return. That's why step 2 (save seed) is MOST IMPORTANT.

Want DePix in your wallet? You can buy it with PIX in PixGo Wallet.

See how to buy DePix

Step 1 — Create wallet

4 horizontal first-steps cards: create, save seed, receive, send with simple icons
PixGo Wallet first steps in 4 stages.

Web (fast for testing)

  1. Open wallet.pixgo.org in browser
  2. Click Create Free Wallet and then Generate My Wallet
  3. 12-word seed appears — DON'T CLOSE yet: write it on paper (step 2)
  4. Create the password — the button only unlocks with a strong password (8+ chars with uppercase, number and symbol, or 12+ chars with two of those three)
  5. Check "I saved my recovery phrase…"
  6. Click Save and Continue

Step 2 — Save the seed (CRITICAL)

The wallet shows 12 words like: broccoli zone empower hello visa quote .... These ARE your wallet. Anytime in the future, if you lose phone or delete app, these 12 words recover everything.

Method Pros Cons
Paper + penOffline, no hackCan get wet/lost
Phone photo (offline)Always with youPhone hack catches it
Physical safeVery secureSlow access
Password manager (1Password, Bitwarden)Encrypted, syncsDepends on master pass
Metal plate (Cryptosteel, Billfodl)Fire/water resistantR$200-500 cost

Beginner recommendation: 2 parallel paths:

  1. Write on paper — keep at home/safe
  2. Write AGAIN in 1Password or Bitwarden — encrypted cloud
NEVER:
  • Screenshot the seed
  • Send seed via WhatsApp, email, any chat
  • Store in Google Drive without encryption
  • Give seed to anyone — not even PixGo support. PixGo doesn't ask for seed
  • Confuse seed with password — different things

Step 3 — Receive first DEPIX

  1. Back to PixGo (not wallet) — /login (if you don't have an account yet, sign up with email and password)
  2. In My Profile, in the Liquid Address section, paste your PixGo Wallet Liquid address (in the wallet: My Wallet → Networks → Liquid, which in a new wallet sits under "Other networks"; then Receive → Copy Address — it starts with lq1q...), click Save Wallet and then Validate Wallet; in the "Validate Address" window, check "I declare I checked the address above" and click Confirm Validation
  3. Once your account is validated, go to Generate Charge (/depix) and create a charge (minimum R$ 10) with the CPF or CNPJ of who will pay
  4. The PIX is paid from the bank app, from the account of that same CPF or CNPJ — a PIX paid from someone else's account is refunded
  5. Wait for D+1 — DEPIX arrives by the end of the next day (PIX → DEPIX is always D+1), the "Deposit received" notification confirms (turn it on in Settings > Notifications)

Done! You have DEPIX in the wallet — each DEPIX is worth exactly R$1 (1:1). Your next charges in Generate Charge follow the same path.

Step 4 — Know the wallet

  • Dashboard: total balance + per-asset balance
  • Receive: shows the address of the selected network (Polygon by default) — for the Liquid address (lq1q...), first pick the Liquid network in My Wallet → Networks, then Receive → Copy Address
  • Send: paste destination + amount + select asset
  • History: list of received/sent transactions
  • Buy Crypto: buy USDT/BTC/L-BTC with PIX
  • Wallet PIX Button: DEPIX → PIX out via CryPix
  • Market: rates + DCA tracker + Bitcoin metrics
  • More (settings): password, biometrics, backup, language

Step 5 — First send

  1. Get recipient's Liquid address (lq1q...)
  2. Wallet → Send
  3. Select asset: DEPIX
  4. Paste address — wallet validates format
  5. Enter amount: 5
  6. Wallet shows: amount sent, network fee (fractions of a cent, paid in L-BTC), total
  7. Confirm with password/biometrics
  8. Wallet shows "Sent" — blockchain confirms in ~1min
No L-BTC for fee? The Liquid network screen shows "You need L-BTC" with the Buy Gas button: tap it and confirm — the Gas Station buys a micro-amount of L-BTC for you (paid with USDt if you have balance, otherwise with DEPIX).

Important concepts

Liquid address starts with "lq1q..."

Public wallet address. ~60-100 chars. Share freely (can't steal with just address). The wallet's Liquid address is always the same — tapping "Receive" again doesn't generate another.

"Liquid" vs "Bitcoin"

Liquid is a Bitcoin SIDECHAIN. Parallel network, faster (1min), cheaper (fractions of a cent per transaction), with privacy (Confidential Transactions). For long hodl: Bitcoin mainnet. For use/move: Liquid.

Blockchain confirmation

Every Liquid transaction needs at least 1 confirmation to be "final". Takes ~1min. For large amounts, wait 2-3 confirmations (3min total).

Common beginner mistakes

"Sent DEPIX to wrong address"

Crypto transactions are FINAL. No reversal. So always:

  1. Check first 8 and last 8 characters before sending
  2. Send 1 DEPIX test to new address before full amount
  3. Use QR Code to paste (less error than typing)

"Forgot wallet password"

No problem IF you have the seed. Re-import:

  1. Open wallet.pixgo.org → Import
  2. Paste 12 words in order
  3. Set new password
  4. Wallet loads everything

But if LOST seed AND forgot password: no return.

"Wallet disappeared, will I lose my money?"

No. Wallet is SOFTWARE — reinstall. Funds are on BLOCKCHAIN, not software. Import with seed, everything's back.

FAQ wallet from zero

Do I pay to create wallet?

NO. Creating is free and unlimited. You only pay fee when SENDING (network micro-amount).

iOS version?

Not yet. Apple has restrictive crypto app rules. For now: web (Safari/Chrome on iPhone) or native Android.

Multiple wallets?

Yes. As many as you want. Each with different seed. Useful to separate "work wallet" from "personal".

What if PixGo disappears?

Your wallet continues. Self-custody = you have the seed. Import in any compatible Liquid wallet (SideSwap, Blockstream Green) and use normally. PixGo is just an INTERFACE — not custody.

How do I know my wallet is "real" not phishing copy?

1. Accessed via wallet.pixgo.org (check HTTPS + padlock). 2. App (APK) downloaded from the Android button on the wallet.pixgo.org home page (not third-party stores). Always type the domain, don't click links.

Practical summary

  • Create wallet at wallet.pixgo.org → 12-word seed + password
  • SAVE seed in 2 places (paper + 1Password or similar)
  • Receive first DEPIX: save and validate the wallet in My Profile, create a charge in Generate Charge once the account is validated, DEPIX arrives on D+1
  • Send: copy destination address, select asset, amount, confirm
  • No L-BTC for fee? Tap Buy Gas on the Liquid network screen (Gas Station)
  • Liquid address (lq1q...) is what you share
  • Crypto transactions FINAL — always test with small amount first
  • Forgot password? Re-import with seed
  • Self-custody = you're responsible. Not like a bank.
