If you are a freelancer, seller, or service provider who needs to receive PIX without a bank account, there is a path that does not depend on a traditional bank: accept the PIX payment and have the money credited straight to a digital wallet that is yours alone. With PixGo, your customer pays normally via PIX and the money arrives as DePix (a stablecoin pegged 1 to 1 to the Brazilian Real, on the Liquid network) by the end of the next day, in a self-custody wallet where the access key belongs to you. No company registration and no monthly fee.
- You receive a PIX and the money arrives as DePix (a Brazilian real stablecoin, 1 DePix = R$ 1) in your own self-custody wallet, by the end of the next day.
- Sales don't land in a bank account, and there's no company, contract, or monthly fee required. To start: sign up with email and password and link a wallet; after sign-up, PixGo validates your account.
- Fee of 2% (or 2% + R$ 1 on sales from R$ 10 to R$ 49.99) plus R$ 0.50 per transfer to your wallet.
- You can cash out or convert to Real whenever you want via the wallet PIX Button or CryPix.
- You control your money. The key/seed is yours: once the DePix reaches your wallet, you decide what to do with it.
Why receive PIX without relying on a bank
PIX has become the default way to get paid in Brazil, but it always passes through a financial institution: a bank, a prepaid account, or a licensed digital wallet. For many people that is a problem. Maybe you have a negative credit record, are tired of fees and account freezes, or simply do not want to open a company just to start selling.
To be clear: a negative credit record does not stop you from using PIX, and the goal here has nothing to do with hiding money. The point is different: to give you a way to get paid outside a bank account and with full control over what comes in. Instead of money sitting in an account that can be frozen at any moment, it arrives, the next day, in a wallet that belongs to you.
Your customer pays a regular PIX and the money arrives as DePix in your own wallet. See how the PixGo PIX gateway works.
Create accountHow receiving in DePix on PixGo works
The flow is simple, and your customer does not need to know any technology. They just see a regular PIX:
- You create your PixGo account with email and password. No company ID or proof of income required.
- You link a wallet: create the PixGo Wallet (or use another Liquid network wallet) and save and validate the address in My Profile.
- After sign-up, PixGo validates your account.
- You generate a PIX charge: a one-off charge in Generate Charge, a checkout link, a fixed QR Code, or a recurring charge.
- The customer pays via PIX from their own bank or wallet, from the account of the same CPF or CNPJ entered on the charge.
- The amount is converted and credited as DePix to your self-custody wallet by the end of the next day.
- The wallet seed is yours. Once the DePix arrives, PixGo does not hold your balance the way a bank does.
DePix is a stablecoin pegged to the Real, meaning 1 DePix equals 1 Real. You receive the equivalent of what you charged, with no speculative crypto volatility. To understand it better, read what DePix is and check out your first steps with the wallet.
What self-custody means (and why it matters)
Self-custody means the key to your money stays with you, not with a company. In a bank account or a traditional wallet, the institution holds your balance and can limit, freeze, or request documents at any time. In PixGo's self-custody wallet, your balance is controlled by your seed, a secret phrase that only you have.
This comes with responsibility: if you lose the seed, no one can recover it for you. That is why storing the seed in a safe place is the most important step. In return, you get real control over your own money, without being at the mercy of third-party decisions. This point is so central that it is also worth reading what to do when a bank freezes your account or flags fraud.
Technical privacy of the Liquid network
DePix runs on the Liquid network, which uses confidential transactions. In practice, transaction amounts are encrypted on the public blockchain, which gives more privacy on the technical side compared to networks where everything is exposed. This is an engineering feature of the network, not a way to hide anything from the proper authorities: you remain responsible for declaring and organizing your finances normally. If you have tax questions, see how to declare DePix on your income tax the right way.
How to turn the DePix you received into Real
Receiving is half the journey. When you want to use the money in the real world, you have direct options:
- Wallet PIX Button: converts DePix back into Real and sends it via PIX to a key you choose.
- CryPix: lets you cash out via PIX or boleto.
- Dollar protection: if you want to shield part of the value against inflation of the Real, you can swap DePix to USDT (digital dollar) right inside the wallet.
The full walkthrough is in how to cash out your balance. Once the DePix reaches your wallet, it can go out as PIX whenever you want.
How much it costs and what you save
PixGo charges 2% per sale (or 2% + R$ 1 on sales from R$ 10 to R$ 49.99), plus R$ 0.50 per transfer to your wallet — PixGo's fee for the next-day transfer, not a Liquid network fee. There is no monthly fee, no loyalty contract, and no charge for being idle. You pay only when you get paid. Compare that with maintenance fees, annual fees, and card-machine rates that many traditional accounts bundle in. Details are on the PixGo fees page.
Who this makes sense for
- Freelancers and self-employed people who want to charge without opening a company.
- Anyone who wants sales to land outside a bank account or is tired of banking fees and freezes.
- Sellers who want a checkout link, QR Code, or online store with no fixed cost.
- People who want to keep control of their own money instead of leaving it all in an institution.
Can I really receive PIX without having a bank account?
Your sales do not go through your bank account: the customer pays a regular PIX and the amount reaches your self-custody wallet as DePix by the end of the next day. To cash out to Real later, you provide a PIX key from an account of yours at the moment of withdrawal.
Do I need a company to receive through PixGo?
No. Sign-up is done with email and password, and you can use a personal CPF. A registered company is not required, which makes life easier for anyone starting out or working independently.
My credit is negative. Can I still use it?
A negative credit record does not stop you from receiving through PixGo. The account is not a bank credit account, so it does not go through the same restriction analysis. You create the account and, once it is validated, start receiving.
Is PIX anonymous?
No. In Brazil, PIX always identifies who pays and who receives, by Central Bank requirement. DePix privacy is technical, from the Liquid network, and does not mean an anonymous or rule-breaking transaction. PixGo's proposal is less bureaucracy and more control, always within the law.
What if I lose access to the wallet?
Since this is self-custody, your seed is the key to everything. Store it in a safe, offline place. Without it, no one can recover the balance for you. In return, no one but you controls your money.
Receiving PIX without a bank account, with the money in your own wallet, is no longer complicated. Create your free account on PixGo, generate your first PIX charge once the account is validated, and receive the money as DePix, the next day, in a wallet that is truly yours.
